Minamisoma City is located just 25 km north of the crippled Fukushima I nuclear plant, and much of the city is within the mandatory evacuation zone [2]. Now the Fukushima Dairy site reports [1] levels of cesium 134 and 137 have been measured in parts to of the city that are 122 times the radiation contamination levels of the mandatory evacuation zone of Belarus after the Chernobyl disaster.
